Personal: End of semester

I can't believe it's the end of 1st semester. Lately I've been feeling really sentimental about UD and the people here. My roomates and I were talking the other day about how it literally seems just yesterday that we were running around Marycrest, getting to know each other. It's so weird and sad that we're all going to be moving on a moving apart - a year from now we're not going to just walk up to any house in your neighborhood and party. Everything is about to change so much, and I feel like I've been trying to ignore how quickly the end of all of this will be coming. This first semester went so quickly (just like the rest of the time here)and I'm really afraid the second semester will go just as fast, if not faster.

Personal: Wedding Dress :)

I found my wedding dress! I had a few dresses picked out that I liked, but nothing I had really fallen in love with - and as soon as I saw it, I completely knew it was it. It's an Oscar de la Renta gown, but I am getting it custom made because there are a few things I would like to alter. I'm going to use all organic and environmentally-friendly materials, and I am going to make the skirt more dramatic. I love it, it's really unique :)

Let me know what you think :)

PR: Jobs

I'm curious what everyone's plans are for next year. I know all of us are CMM or PR majors, but is that what everyone is planning on going into? I am glad I have such a general degree and I hope that it gives a lot of different options. I personally don't plan on going into PR - I've really disliked all of my PR classes, I'm not a huge fan of writing (especially PR releases!). I applied for my first job with PETA - if you saw my last post, I'm sure you'd be able to gather that I am an animals right activist. It's my passion. It is so upsetting how few people are truly knowledgable on the subjects of animal rights, the meat industry, and heathly living. I really encourage everyone to check out PETA's websites - including one of my favorites - goveg.com. I really think if people even knew a little of the truth they would be so compelled to make a difference.

Whoa, I'm engaged?!

So, last night Brad proposed! I was so suprised. :) Here's what happened...

While I was at my last class, Brad stopped by my house and left flowers on my desk with a little note that said "Olive Garden date tonight?". (We went on our first date to Olive Garden). I just thought he was being sweet, definately did not think anything more of it. When we got to the resturant, he said he forgot his wallet in the car, so he left to go out and grab it. While he was out at the car, he put a bottle of champagne, a red rose, and a letter on the passanger seat. We went through the rest of dinner, nothing seemed out of the ordinary (although he barely touched his food, which is very uncharacteristic of Brad). We walked out to the car, and he opened the car door and obviously I saw the seat and was like what is this? And I turned around and he got down on one knee and proposed. Of course, I said yes :) After he got up, we jumped around laughing for a solid 10 minutes or so - we were both shaking so much! He said he was so nervous he thought he was going to throw up at the end of dinner!

We got back to my house and my roomates, who had known about the whole thing, had set up a suprise party for us. So all of my closest friends from UD were there, they had a gorgeous cake made, they had made signs that said "Congrats Kel & Brad", and they had a bunch of bottles of champagne :) They played our song, "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds when we walked it, which was so sweet and thoughtful. It was so much fun. We all hung out at my house until midnight, and then we all headed to Tim's (classy, right?). My roomates had the DJ announce our engagement and then dedicated "Let's Get Married" to us (some old rap song?).

Such a great night, and I'm so lucky to have so many wonderful people in my life to share it with! This weekend now we're going to OU, where all of my close friends from home go to school, to celebrate with them (and for Halloween). I'm really excited... It's definately been a very memorable weekend so far :)
